Psychotrauma & Crisis Response Unit – Immediate Emotional Support in Emergencies
United Hatzalah’s Psychotrauma & Crisis Response Unit (PCRU) enhances emergency medical services by providing immediate psychological first aid at the scene of traumatic events. This unit is staffed by trained professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers, who offer support to victims, witnesses, and responders to alleviate trauma and prevent long-term psychological effects.
The PCRU operates 24/7, deploying teams to emergency scenes to deliver real-time emotional stabilization. This proactive approach helps individuals cope with the immediate aftermath of traumatic incidents, reducing the risk of developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other psychological issues.
In addition to on-site support, the PCRU offers training programs in psychological first aid to various organizations, including the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), police forces, and fire departments. These programs equip personnel with the skills to recognize and address psychological distress in emergency situations.
Your support enables the PCRU to continue its vital work, providing essential psychological care to those affected by emergencies and ensuring that emotional well-being is prioritized alongside physical health.
